Toolative is built on a simple principle: your data is yours. We designed every tool with privacy as the default, not an afterthought. The majority of our tools run entirely inside your browser — your files, text, and inputs never leave your device.

For tools that do require server-side processing (such as file conversions and PDF operations), we process your data securely and delete it immediately after the task is complete. We do not store, sell, or share your personal information.

Toolative handles two types of data depending on the tool being used:

We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide it (for example, via our contact form).

Any information we process is used solely to:

• Perform the tool function you requested
• Improve the reliability and performance of our tools
• Diagnose technical errors and ensure service stability
• Respond to messages sent through our contact form

We will never use your data for advertising, behavioural tracking, or any purpose beyond providing the service you requested.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Period.

The only exceptions are:

• Legal obligations — if required by law or a valid government request
• Service protection — to investigate fraud, abuse, or security threats

We use a small number of infrastructure providers (hosting, CDN) to operate the site. These providers do not have access to user-submitted content.

Toolative uses minimal cookies — only what is strictly necessary to operate the site:

• Theme preference (light / dark mode)
• Basic analytics to understand which tools are most used (no personal data, no cross-site tracking)

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time without affecting core tool functionality.

The Toolative Chrome extension gives you quick access to tools from any browser tab. It does not collect browsing history, read page content, or transmit any data about your activity.

Any preferences saved by the extension (such as recently used tools) are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local and are never sent to our servers.

Because we don't collect personal data, there is very little to manage. But you always have the right to:

• Choose what you submit — you are never required to upload anything
• Request deletion of any contact form data we may hold
• Stop using Toolative at any time, no cancellation needed
• Contact us with any privacy concern or question

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the site and any data in transit:

• HTTPS encryption on all pages and API routes
• Server-processed files are handled in isolated, ephemeral environments
• Automatic deletion of uploaded files immediately after processing
• No logging of file contents or user-submitted text

No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at hello@toolative.com and we will address it promptly.

Toolative is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Toolative after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
